After a decade of exploration into the invisible world—during which the band performed more than a hundred shows across Europe (including three tours, Hellfest, Desertfest, and Roadburn)—Wolvennest is back with a double LP: Procession.

Those who follow the occult music scene will know what to expect: a strange blend of psych/doom with a touch of the darkness found in black metal. Massive guitars, synths/mellotrons, melancholic yet oppressive atmospheres, all wrapped in Shazzula’s haunting

vocals and theremin, lead a bizarre ceremony reflecting the consequences of a dark journey—one that ends in death and apocalypse.

Procession also marks the first collaboration between Wolvennest and the Belgian label Consouling Sounds. Mostly self-recorded, and mixed/mastered by long-time producer Déhà at Blackout Studios, this fifth album features artwork by Arts of Maquenda, who also created the Temple artwork in 2020.

Speaking of tradition, as always, Wolvennest welcomes guest appearances—this time featuring Hekte Zaren, the enigmatic voice behind black metal’s best-kept secret: Adaestuo.

Sects, curses, death rituals, and psychotropics create an eerie atmosphere, showing that the band is ready for another decade of sonic exploration, enhanced in live performances by surreal projections.

Procession describes a world where the cross is inverted, and portals constantly open, granting access to the invisible realm and to one’s other self.

Emerging from the Eternal City, BEDSORE blends progressive rock heritage with modern extreme metal experimentation, crafting a unique blend of Progressive Death Magick!

Their latest release, Dreaming the Strife for Love (2024), marks a bold step in their sonic evolution, drawing inspiration from the mysterious Renaissance book Hypnerotomachia Poliphili. The concept explores Love as a battlefield, where desire and devotion are tested through trials and spiritual awakenings. The band weaves Poliphilo’s dreamscape with their own, merging visions of pagan temples, mystical gardens, and arcane symbols with a musical landscape as dynamic and complex as his journey. The album immerses listeners in a surreal narrative where reality bends, and the pursuit of Love becomes a clash between the human soul and the cosmic forces that surround it.

Released via 20 Buck Spin, Bedsore’s second full-length evokes the sensation of uncovering a lost gem of obscure 1970s progressive rock, rediscovered in modern times.

As a sonic odyssey, Dreaming the Strife for Love echoes the complex narrative and thematic richness of the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili. The transitions from wounding riffs and sharpened screams to delicate, soaring melodies and intricate instrumentation are designed to immerse the listener in the narration while challenging them to navigate its twists and turns. The winding structures of the tracks, their dynamic tempo changes, and aery acoustic interludes mirror the protagonist’s dream sequences, constantly shifting between tension and release, chaos and harmony, reflecting the ever- changing landscapes of Poliphilo’s journey. Each song represents a chapter in his travels: some are massive, swirling epics of sound; others are introspective, capturing moments of reflection. Like Poliphilo’s fight for Love, the music challenges the listener.

With their second full-length album, Bedsore continues to push artistic boundaries, solidifying their reputation for majestic sonic investigation and cementing their status as pioneers in the metal world.
